Leadership PE Schedule for 2025-2026
ORIENTATION SESSION:
September 18-20, 2025
Lake Cumberland - Jamestown, KY
Objective: Enables the participants to gain a better understanding of themselves and the other members of their class. This will occur through an organized and structured self-assessment evaluation and feedback process and sessions on team building and work-life balance. The session also provides educational information about the history of engineering and the function of the Leadership PE training program, as well as professional societies. This session will set the stage for the remaining sessions. (Session starts Thursday at 1:00 pm; ends Saturday at noon)
COMMUNICATION SESSION:
October 15-17, 2025 Hampton Inn & Suites - Owensboro, KY
Objective: Focus on the various methods and tools for effective communication. This will occur through exposure to techniques and methods of modern-day communication. It will also focus on audience, customer, marketing effectiveness and attention to both written and spoken presentations. Special emphasis will be placed on current electronic communications, techniques and functions. (Session starts Wednesday at 1:00 pm; ends Friday at 12:30 pm)
TEAM DYNAMICS and VOLUNTEERISM SESSION:
November 13-14, 2025
US Army Corps of Engineers - Louisville, KY
Objective: Focus on the external elements of leadership rather than the individual. The content of this session will include (1) management of resources, (2) management of projects, (3) problem solving and (4) real life exercises to elaborate on the lessons learned. (Session starts Thursday at 8:00 am; ends Friday at 5:00 pm)
PROFESSIONALISM SESSION:
January 15-16, 2026 Marriott Cincinnati RiverCenter - Covington, KY
Objective: Focus on the ethical and professional influences associated with the engineering profession. The content of this session will include: (1) the registration (licensing) process, (2) the value of society involvement, (3) the financial and legal elements of the profession, (4) ethics and (5) the systemic relationship of the engineering business. (Session starts Thursday at 10:00 am; ends Friday at 5:00 pm)
LEGISLATIVE SESSION
February 17-18, 2026
Kentucky Engineering Center - Frankfort, KY
Objective: Focus on the political and economic realities that affect or are affected by day-to-day business and social activities. Attention will be given to the legislative process, economic development and community involvement. Direct contact and experience with government officials will be at the heart of this session. (Session starts Tuesday at 12:00 pm; ends Wednesday at 5:00 pm)
PERSONAL MANAGEMENT SESSION
March 4-6, 2026 Embassy Suites - Bowling Green, KY
Objective: Focus on the personal side of leadership, such as understanding how the individual acts and is perceived. It will also address: (1) how to personally manage and influence the way the participants act and react to external and internal situations, (2) personal goal setting and (3) management of stress and time. It will also discuss the differences and similarities between management and leadership. (Session starts Wednesday at 11:30 am; ends Friday at 12:00 pm) ALUMNI SESSION - MEETING OF LEADERSHIP PE CLASSES: PAST & PRESENT 2026 - TBD Special Event: An opportunity for the current class and the Leadership PE Alumni to join together for a networking reception.
GRADUATION AT NSPE-KY ANNUAL CONVENTION April 17, 2026 Galt House - Louisville, KY
Objective: Recognize the individuals who successfully completed the program and promote future programs. Post assessment, program review and future opportunities will be explored. This session will be scheduled in conjunction with the NSPE-KY Annual Convention. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the NSPE-KY Annual Convention. Return to Homepage
